a candle ... for a friend

Dick called me 1 hour ago. Dick is the brother of Frank who owns a demolition company for whom i organise, maintain and secure the computer networks. Dick told me that Raymond is going to die. He has cancer of the pancreas with evolved metastasis.
I went to Raymond's home 6 weeks ago to deliver a cleaned up computer. His son's thesis for college was on it and they did not have a backup. His daughter and son in law were just moving in with them, because they started to renovate their house thoroughly. Nobody knew anything about the cancer. Raymond was sick that day, but it looked like a flu.
I think I know him for about 8 years. He must be my age. In less than 6 months ....
I lit a candle. And i prayed.
