my ego or my pride

Posted on Sep 3rd, 2008 by ***_***_*** : _soul_800_ ***_***_***
Last week i got hurt when i had taken the decision to pay for somebody's studies.
Somebody else asked me whether i would indeed really do this, and asked to think it over first.
The amounts mentioned are negligible compared to my income, and that remark really hurt.

Later i found out that it hurt because really deep i must have thought: "why would anybody challenge my image of being a good person?"

After realizing this, i sighed, and went for a walk outside, head down.

My friend, I doubt the person receiving this generous gift from you has any question regarding your ego or your pride.  You should be proud of what you are doing!  It is a wonderful thing!   Plus, what does it matter if it helps out your egos a little bit? It feels good to do good for others!  I don't think that is anything to hang your head over.  So chin up!

thx for your encouraging words …
but far beyond the good acts, feelings and intentions is a shadow.

We recognize our shadow when we feel a disproportionate amount of anger or hate, and equally love or praise to something said or done to us (or someone talking or doing), or to the general public we belong to.

My above blog is about my shadow, and the enormous amount of work i'll have to do to incorporate it in my awareness.
